Drawdown recovery calculator

Losses and gains aren't symmetric. Lose 50% and you need +100% just to get back to flat. Enter a drawdown to see the gain required to recover.

Gain needed to recover

The recovery math

Gain needed = Drawdown ÷ (1 − Drawdown). The deeper the hole, the steeper the climb:

  • · −10% → +11.1%
  • · −20% → +25%
  • · −33% → +50%
  • · −50% → +100%
  • · −75% → +300%

This asymmetry is the whole case for hard risk limits: not blowing up is mathematically worth far more than any winning streak. Shibiki enforces your drawdown limit at the broker so the hole never gets deep enough to be unrecoverable — especially on a funded account where a breach ends the game entirely.
